Main Interiors Work Placement

For my work placement, I undertook a seven week work placement at Main Interiors, an Interior Design company in Bristol. Through this opportunity I was able to implement my existing skills which I had already obtained throughout my Interior Architecture and Design course, whilst being exposed to many new experiences that allowed me to gain an in-depth understanding of the varying roles and requirements that come with working in the Interiors industry.
I was able to learn in a hands-on environment from individuals that can offer valuable lessons and knowledge, and take away some invaluable knowledge that I can apply as I progress throughout my degree and career.

I was able to witness different stages of various design projects and experience day-to-day practices in an office environment, such as spectating the relationships between consultants and clients, which I would never get to see if it weren’t for this opportunity. The range of projects and type of working environment allowed me to identify the areas of practice I find the most enjoyable and beneficial, and will led to me to conclusions about my career progression in the future.
